The Holy Catholic Church Western Rite is a true part of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, accepting the Holy tradition and expressing the fullness of the faith of the undivided Catholic Church instituted by Jesus Christ, continuing the Church of the first millennium. We are Western Rite Catholics and we proclaim this by our use of the Gregorian Canon at the Mass.
We accept as binding and unchangeable the received faith and Holy traditions of the historical Catholic faith and Apostolic order and its teachings. These include the historic threefold, male Apostolic ministry of Bishop, Priest and Deacon, as set forth in the Holy Scripture, the Apostle's, Nicene and Athanasian Creeds, and the writings of the Bishops and Doctors of the ancient Church, especially as defined by the Seven Ecumenical Councils of the undivided Church.
We administer the traditional seven Sacraments, and believe that the Sacraments are objective and effective signs of the continued presence and saving activity of Christ our Lord among His people and the covenanted means for conveying His Grace. |
The Holy Catholic Church, Western Rite proclaims the full restoration of the undivided Church of the first millenium.
We are Western Rite Catholic in that we use the Gregorian Canon at Mass which was the most widely used Eucharistic prayer throughout the western part of the undivided Church.
We add the words "Western Rite" to our title to show we are not the only Catholic Church, just a manifestation of it. |
